Nestled beside the Gran Teatre del Liceu, on Barcelona's iconic Las Ramblas and just moments from the legendary La Boqueria Market, Hotel España is a four-star landmark and one of the finest expressions of Catalan Modernism. Originally opened as Fonda España in 1859 and later reimagined by renowned architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner alongside celebrated artists such as Eusebi Arnau and Ramon Casas, the hotel has witnessed the evolution of Barcelona and the countless stories that have shaped its unique character. Today, a new vision by acclaimed interior designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán brings this remarkable heritage into the present. A thoughtful reinterpretation where Modernism meets Neo-Deco, elegance embraces intrigue, and every space invites guests to experience a different side of Barcelona—more authentic, more intimate, and vibrantly alive. The hotel's 82 rooms are the final chapter of this journey: peaceful sanctuaries designed for rest after a day immersed in the city. Meanwhile, signature spaces including Fonda España, Dorita Cocktail Bar, Dorita Club, and the Sky Bar extend the experience through exceptional gastronomy, crafted cocktails, music, and Barcelona's vibrant nightlife. Hotel España is more than a place to stay. It is a gateway into Barcelona—a way to discover it, embrace it, and, for a moment, become part of its story.
